This really does take work to do this, despite what a lot of the so-called gurus say. At this point, however, for me the work is mostly learning. One thing I’ve learned is that I should have had this blog in a folder titled “blog” instead of leaving it with the default “wp” folder name. Therefore, I’m looking into how to change that folder name, without losing any of the writign that I’ve done. Isn’t that fun? Well, not really. But I do need to learn how to do this properly and this blog is one way to do that.

There is so much to marketing on the Internet. Wow! The hype about working for 4 hours a week and still making $100,000 per year I am starting to doubt very much. I’ve been reading a lot about blogging, making products, being an affiliate, and have decided on my second serious site. It’s going to be started as an advice site that has a lot of affiliate links and (eventually) at least one of my own products. It’ll take some time to get this going, but my goal is to have the basic site up by the end of this week. After all, should one set measurable goals in order to get anywhere in any business? Or for that matter, anywhere in anything in life?

My day job, of course, is very demanding, too. I worked six hours of overtime on Saturday, which I really didn’t like doing, especially since I had the kids with me. They had fun, got to watch a movie, play around my office a bit, do some colouring. But it was a bit of a distraction, since they wouldn’t let em walk anywhere without them. I suppose I understand that, security issues and so-forth. It’d be nice if I could spend more time with them - real quality time. My ideal is to only work on those days that I’m not with my kids, and then to be able to spend the rest of my time with the kids, doing whatever, with them. Actually, I have an ever bigger dream of them spending all day, every day, with me, then they can go to their mom in the evenings (as per our agreement), and they can then come to me for a half of the nights each week! That would be great. but I’m wandering a bit here… This is supposed to be about my business, not about my kids and I.

The new site address will be findarussianbride.com. The concept is to give people unbiased advice, information, and more on the international search for relationships between women (or men, although that’s really rare) from the Former Sovier Union (FSU) and men (or women) from Europe and North America. What I idealise is a site that shows all aspects of the search, advice on dating and communicating, several site to find the relationship, reviews of the sites, advice about scammers and how to deal with that (should it happen) and how to avoid it, advice on gifts, advice on travel to the FSU, how to meet safely, and how to deal with travel agents, family, and the women on the initial visit. The advice will build to the point where there will be follow-up real, relevant relationship advice on making the multi-cultural relationship work even after marriage so that the couple can stay together for the long term. And hopefully I’ll make some money doing it. And hey, if you’re reading this after September 14, 2008, then please, visit the site and give me any feedback you can on my progress or the site itself here in this blog!
